Roma general director Franco Baldini has admitted that it was a mistake to appoint Zdenek Zeman as manager last summer.
The veteran coach made his return to the club after the sacking of Luis Enrique, delivering a number of erratic results before being relieved of his duties in February.
Aurelio Andreazzoli has since replaced Zeman and reinvigorated the side, who face local rivals Lazio in the Coppa Italia final.
"I can say that Zeman was not the right choice," Baldini told reporters.
"We wanted to give the fans a spectacle, but were not ready to offer guaranteed results."
Andreazzoli is hoping to continue in his role as manager, though AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has been strongly linked with a move to Stadio Olimpico.
