Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has insisted that he is satisfied with his side's goalless draw against England.
The Irish, who face Scotland in a crucial Euro 2016 qualifier next weekend, played out a stalemate with Roy Hodgson's side in Dublin on Sunday.
Despite failing to win the match, O'Neill believes that England provided his players with perfect opposition ahead of their clash with the Scots.
"It's exactly what we needed," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "I thought in the last 15 minutes we looked pretty tired. We started off brightly in the game and we could have scored a couple of goals, but the overall picture is that it was good for us. From a physical viewpoint it couldn't have been better timed."
Ireland are currently in fourth place in their Euro 2016 qualifying group, three points behind leaders Poland.
