Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni is aiming to win their Group C encounter with holders Spain on Thursday.
The Irish got off to a terrible Euro 2012 start with a 3-1 loss at the hands of Croatia in a game seen as a must-win if they are to progress from a tough group. Now Ireland face World Cup winners Spain and must avoid defeat to have a chance of advancing to the quarter-finals.
Despite being the underdogs for the match, Trapattoni is looking to cause a shock upset and beat Spain.
"Maybe Spain have one or two more creative players, but football is not only about creative players," said the 73-year-old Italian.
"I think we can win. Why not?"
Ireland face Spain in their second Group C match on Thursday, while Italy take on Croatia in the other group game.
