Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Lens vs. Lyon

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Lens vs. Lyon.

Rennes vs. Montpellier (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Both fresh from their two-week break during the international pause, Rennes and Montpellier HSC will lock horns at Roazhon Park for a Ligue 1 clash on Sunday afternoon.

Les Rennais suffered a defeat in their final match before the break, and the same can be said of La Paillade, who endured a difficult afternoon on home soil.

We say: Rennes 2-1 Montpellier HSC

Refreshed following the international break, Rennes will be confident of earning their second win of the season against Montpellier on Sunday.

La Paillade's injury crisis continues into the middle of September, and we cannot envisage a makeshift visiting side collecting any points at Roazhon Park.

Nantes vs. Reims (Sunday, 4.00pm)

Nantes are set to host Reims on Sunday at Stade de la Beaujoire - Louis Fonteneau in each side's fourth Ligue 1 game of the 2024-25 season.

The home side are currently third in France's top flight with seven points and beat Montpellier HSC 3-1 last time out on August 31, while the visitors are 10th with four points and most-recently emerged 2-1 victors against Rennes on September 1.

We say: Nantes 1-0 Reims

Nantes will likely surrender possession to the visitors as they have done in all three of their league games this season and look to strike during counter-attacks.

Additionally, Reims have been poor away from home recently and have struggled to create many meaningful opportunities in front of goal this campaign, and it would not be surprising if they lost on Sunday.

Toulouse vs. Le Havre (Sunday, 4.00pm)

Toulouse play host to Le Havre on Sunday evening still searching for their first win of the new Ligue 1 season.

Meanwhile, the visitors have been one of the surprise packages of the campaign, sitting in seventh position in the standings courtesy of recording two victories before the international break.

We say: Toulouse 2-1 Le Havre

While Le Havre have reason to be confident heading into this contest, respect must be given to the home side who have only lost out to free-scoring Marseille. With that in mind, we are backing the home side to edge this encounter, kick-starting their season in the process.

Strasbourg vs. Angers (Sunday, 4.00pm)

Aiming to respond following a defeat last time out, Strasbourg will welcome one of the favourites for relegation, Angers, to Stade de la Meinau on Sunday afternoon for a Ligue 1 clash.

Le Racing lost out in a seven-goal thriller against Lyon prior to the international break, whilst Les Noirs et Blancs were convincingly defeated at home by Nice.

We say: Strasbourg 2-0 Angers

Despite their mixed bag of results at the beginning of this term, Strasbourg will be very confident of putting struggling Angers to the sword on home soil.

With a woeful away record in Ligue 1 stretching back to their relegation campaign of 2022-23, Les Noirs et Blancs are likely to suffer another defeat on the road this weekend.

Lens vs. Lyon (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Aiming to keep their unbeaten record at the start of the new term intact, Lens will welcome struggling Lyon to Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Sunday night in Ligue 1.

Les Sang et Or recorded a share of the spoils in their fixture prior to the international break, whilst Les Gones earned a hard-fought victory over Strasbourg.

We say: Lens 1-0 Lyon

After winning back-to-back home games against sides competing in Europe this season last month, Lens should be confident of recording another positive result at Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Sunday night.

Lyon struggled massively on the road against Rennes, and it could be a similar story here for Les Gones, who have been worryingly inconsistent so far this season.
