Saturday's Ligue 1 predictions including Toulouse vs. Marseille

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Toulouse vs. Marseille.

Brest vs. St Etienne (Saturday, 4.00pm)

Two clubs who have made very disappointing starts to the new Ligue 1 season meet at the Stade Francis-Le Ble on Saturday evening, when Brest host Saint-Etienne.

Neither side are yet to register a point so far, as last season's surprise package Brest sit bottom after two matchdays.

We say: Brest 2-0 Saint-Etienne

Starting off strongly will be key and ending a run which has seen Brest concede in the opening 25 minutes of five of their last six games could be very important.

Saint-Etienne have a poor recent record against Brest, and Dall'Oglio could see his former side inflict yet another defeat on them here, with the club evidently not fully equipped to compete at this level just yet.

Montpellier vs. Nantes (Saturday, 6.00pm)

Early strugglers Montpellier HSC welcome Nantes to the Stade de la Mosson for a Ligue 1 clash on Saturday.

Michel Der Zakarian's side were heavily beaten in the capital last weekend and must respond here in a clash against similar level opposition.

We say: Montpellier HSC 0-1 Nantes

Finding their shooting boots on the road will be important for Nantes, as they have now gone almost six hours since their last league goal away from home - which conveniently enough came on this ground back in April.

While Nantes have only won one home game in 2024, form on the road has been much better, with five wins and four draws from 11 games, and paired with Montpellier's poor record at home, the visitors may just have the edge here.

Toulouse vs. Marseille (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Two sides yet to taste defeat in Ligue 1 meet at the Municipal Stadium on Saturday night, when Toulouse host Marseille.

The blueprint of manager Roberto De Zerbi is certainly in place at Marseille, given the start the team has made, with plenty of goals going in at either end, while Toulouse have been much more pragmatic in the opening weeks.

We say: Toulouse 1-3 Marseille

If the first two games are anything to go by, De Zerbi's Marseille will be a very entertaining watch this season for the neutrals, and that could continue here on the road.

Toulouse's woeful record against Marseille does not bode well, and after not showing enough in the final third to win either of their opening two matches, they may come up short here.
