Real Sociedad would have reportedly seriously considered sacking head coach David Moyes if the Basque club lost to Levante last weekend.
Moyes took charge of the Spanish outfit towards the end of 2014 and managed to lead the club away from the relegation zone in the second half of the season.
Entering the Levante match on Sunday, Sociedad had only won once in the league this term, however, and according to AS, a change at the helm would have been made had Moyes not led his side to all three points.
Carlos Vela scored twice in the 4-0 win in Valencia, but the club's board are still said to be considering a change, with former Tottenham Hotspur boss Juande Ramos among the names mentioned.
Sociedad return to La Liga action this weekend with a home game against Celta Vigo.
