Former Manchester United manager David Moyes is reportedly the frontrunner for the recently-vacant Real Sociedad job.
Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Malaga saw Sociedad part ways with coach Jagoba Arrasate as the club sit second from bottom in La Liga.
Reports last week had suggested that Moyes was one of several candidates for the job but, according to The Mirror, he is now the leading contender to take the reigns in San Sebastian.
Ex-West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel and former Argentina manager Alejandro Sabella are also believed to be in the reckoning.
The Scot has been out of football since April after being sacked by United following a tumultuous maiden season in charge of the Old Trafford club.
