Real Madrid's plans to sign Kylian Mbappe next year are reportedly still on track despite speculation that Paris Saint-Germain will look to block any exit before 2022.

Real Madrid's plans to sign Kylian Mbappe next year are reportedly still on track despite speculation that Paris Saint-Germain will block any exit before his contract expires in 2022.

Los Blancos are known to hold a long-standing interest in the 21-year-old World Cup winner, who burst onto the scene with Monaco in 2016-17 and has since scored 116 goals in just 164 games.

However, PSG are reluctant to lose a player widely considered to be the most valuable in the world and remain hopeful that they can tie him down to a new deal at the Parc des Princes.

Recent reports have even suggested that the French champions would be willing to risk losing him on a free transfer in 2022 rather than selling him next summer, but AS claims that Madrid's 'Operation Mbappe' is still on track.

The coronavirus pandemic is expected to have an impact on mega-money transfer moves when the next window opens, but Mbappe's desire to join Madrid will aid their chances of completing a deal.

The report also claims that the France international's relationship with PSG has become increasingly fragile and that he is not interested in sitting down for talks over a contract extension.

Mbappe has scored 90 goals and created a further 49 in just 120 appearances for PSG across all competitions.
