Real Madrid are reportedly close to finalising a deal for Porto defender Eder Militao after seeing off competition from a number of clubs.
The 21-year-old has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool thanks to his impressive displays for Porto.
With interest in the Brazilian youngster building, Marca claims that Madrid moved fastest and raced ahead of the competition by making a formal approach.
Los Blancos are said to be waiting for Militao's signature before formally announcing his arrival, with the transfer to go through at the earliest possible opportunity in June.
Militao started his career as a right-back but has moved centrally in the same manner as iconic Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, being used across both those positions throughout this season.
Porto are believed to be after around £45m for the Sao Paolo academy product.
