Enzo Zidane leaves Real Madrid for Alaves

Enzo Zidane, son of Real Madrid manager Zinedine, leaves the club to join Alaves on a three-year deal.

Enzo Zidane has joined Alaves on a three-year deal from Real Madrid.

Zidane, who is the son of Real Madrid manager Zinedine, joined the Los Blancos academy in 2004 but spent much of his time at the club turning out for the Castilla side in the second tier.

The 22-year-old has now opted to move on from the Bernabeu, putting pen to paper on a deal which will keep him at Alaves until 2020.

"Deportivo Alaves wants to welcome Enzo Zidane and wishes him the best of luck for the new season. Welcome, Enzo!" read a statement on the Alaves website.

Zidane was often selected in squads by his father but made just one appearance for the senior team, scoring in a Copa del Rey clash against Cultural Leonesa last November.

The deal is understood to contain a buy-back clause should Zidane impress at his new club.
