Barcelona are reportedly keen to bring Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt to Camp Nou this summer.
The Catalan giants are expected to be in the market for a new central defender at the end of the 2021-22 campaign, with Chelsea's Andreas Christensen among those linked with a move to the club.
However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, De Ligt is Barcelona's leading target, with the La Liga outfit's head coach Xavi a huge admirer of his talents.
The report claims that the club would be unable to afford to sign the Netherlands international this month but are confident that their financial issues will have eased by the summer.
De Ligt's agent Mino Raiola recently revealed that his client was open to leaving Juventus in the near future, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also mentioned as possible suitors.
The 22-year-old has made 95 appearances for the Old Lady since arriving from Ajax in July 2019, including 20 outings in all competitions during the 2021-22 campaign.
De Ligt still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract in Turin.
