Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti insists that Luka Modric will not leave this summer.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has insisted there is no truth to rumours that Luka Modric could leave the club this summer.

The Croatian has been linked with a move to Manchester United, as well as Tottenham Hotspur as part of a deal the could see Gareth Bale move in the opposite direction.

"All of the players are happy to be here with us. We have not spoken about any player leaving. It's completely false that Modric could leave. He is a very important player for us. Modric will play for Madrid this season," he told reporters.

Regarding Real's ongoing attempts to sign Bale, Ancelotti said that the club are attempting to negotiate with Spurs and "find a solution to the situation".
