Zinedine Zidane: 'More to come from Real Madrid'

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane warns that there is more to come from his side after they scored five goals for the second match in a row in victory over Sporting Gijon.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has warned that there is still more to come from his side after they thrashed Sporting Gijon 5-1 at the Bernabeu this afternoon.

Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema were all on the scoresheet as Madrid raced into a 5-0 lead by half time before comfortably seeing out the win to temporarily leapfrog Barcelona in the table.

Zidane has now seen his side register five goals in both of his matches since taking over from Rafael Benitez, but he insists that there is still room for improvement.

"When I took over this team I knew what I had. It's a fantastic start - scoring five goals is not easy," he told reporters.

"I know what we can do and what we are going to do in the future. We are only in the beginning - I have high hopes for this team. You can always improve. Physically we have to improve a lot and we are going to work hard and be better.

"We've only been together for two weeks. We want to win games, but above all to win them at the end of the season which is when titles are decided."

Despite the win, Madrid end the day in third place after Atletico Madrid and Barcelona both also won in later kickoffs.
