Zinedine Zidane: 'Life as Real Madrid Castilla manager is a dream'

Zinedine Zidane has indicated that he would still be interested in becoming Real Madrid manager in the future, but has insisted that Rafael Benitez is a good choice for the club at present.

The former Real and France international midfielder is currently manager of the Los Blancos reserve side Real Madrid Castilla, and says that he is enjoying life in the role while Benitez continues to impress with the first team at the top of La Liga.

"Real Madrid coach? We'll see, for now my day-to-day work is something different," he told reporters when questioned about potentially becoming Real manager. "Benítez is good for the team and is doing a great job."

The 43-year-old later added: "At the moment what I'm experiencing at Castilla is a dream. The team are playing well, and we're top of the table. At the moment my day-to-day is at Castilla. You're asking me about the future, but we'll have to see."

Zidane made over 225 appearances for Real, scoring 49 goals and providing 34 assists.
