Sporting Lisbon keen on Cristiano Ronaldo reunion

Sporting Lisbon president Bruno de Carvalho hopes that Cristiano Ronaldo will choose to end his career with the Portuguese club.

Sporting Lisbon president Bruno de Carvalho hopes that Cristiano Ronaldo will choose to end his career with the club.

The 29-year-old came through the ranks at the Portuguese side before moving to Manchester United in 2003, from where he joined Real Madrid in 2009.

It has been reported that Ronaldo will not end his career in La Liga, and, if Ronaldo decides to move on, De Carvalho says that Sporting would love to have him back.

"I am very happy for his career," talkSPORT quotes him as saying. "Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world and we are proud to have a talent like him in the national team.

"If he decides to return to Sporting, it will be an honour for us. Maybe he will choose to end his career with us."

Ronaldo has scored 284 goals in just 271 appearances for Real.
