Barcelona striker Lionel Messi has admitted that a poor run of form is a new situation for him and his teammates.

The club lost 4-2 on aggregate to Real Madrid on Tuesday night, less than a week after being beaten 2-0 by AC Milan in the first leg of the Champions League last 16.

Messi has promised the club's fans that results will improve.

"We're not used to living this situation," AS quotes Messi as saying. "I have great confidence that this group will move forward."

Barca face real again on Saturday afternoon in the La Liga El Clasico.
