Former Spain midfielder Gaizka Mendieta has said that Cristiano Ronaldo's role at Real Madrid needs to change next season.
The La Liga giants haven't won the Spanish league title since 2012, and Mendieta believes that their star man needs to become more of a team player.
He told Sky Sports News: "I don't think he'd be happy. His numbers are there and it's unbelievable what he has done and achieved. You cannot say he has failed because of those numbers and figures.
"But he might have to reconsider and think about what if he scores 10 goals less but I defend better and help my team to become a better team, rather than just beating my numbers and scoring more week-in, week-out?
"Is it down to him? I don't think it's down to him. I think it's down to managers and the president."
Ronaldo has scored 60 goals in all competitions this season.
