Luis de la Fuente: 'Spain future is bright'

Spain Under-19 head coach Luis de la Fuente believes that international football will continue to thrive in Spain following their European Championship victory.

Spain Under-19 head coach Luis de la Fuente has said that he believes the long-term future of Spanish football is very bright.

La Rojita claimed their seventh European Championship at the weekend as they beat their Russia counterparts 2-0 in the final.

De la Fuente predicts that a clutch of his players will go on to play first-team La Liga football in the future, in addition to representing the senior national team.

"[Spain] can be very optimistic for the future because we have a large base of [quality] talent. Many of the players we saw [on Sunday] will play in La Liga or for the seniors within the next few years," the Under-19 boss told reporters.

Villarreal's Nahuel Leiva and Real Madrid's Borja Mayoral were on target in the final.
