Real Madrid star Marco Asensio describes Neymar's world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain as "strange".

Real Madrid star Marco Asensio has claimed that Barcelona's failure to keep Neymar at the club is a "little strange".

The Brazilian superstar became the world's most expensive footballer when he signed for Paris Saint-Germain in a reported £200m deal in the summer.

The 25-year-old was part of a prolific attacking force alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Camp Nou, but he has now stepped out to become the main man at Parc des Princes.

Asensio has impressed for Barcelona's enemies Madrid this season having scored two goals in three La Liga outings, and the 21-year-old insists that he has no plans to join Neymar at PSG.

"I have a price and I do not think that I move from here," the attacking player told El Partidazo de Cope. "How much is it worth? What is put in my [buyout] clause. No, I would not go to PSG. I am very happy here.

"It seemed strange to us that Neymar left Barcelona. He was an important player for them and [the fact] that they could not keep him is a little strange."

Since moving to the Bernabeu from Mallorca in 2014, Asensio has made 26 appearances in La Liga.
