Three of Borussia Dortmund's foremost players could be out of action for the German champions' first match against Real Madrid in this season's Champions League.
Polish winger Jakub Blaszczykowski is definitely out of the Madrid match after suffering torn ankle ligaments in the 1-1 draw at Hannover at the weekend, while German duo Mats Hummels and Sven Bender also suffered injuries and could miss the vital encounter on October 24.
Centre-back Hummels has heavy metatarsal bruising and Bender picked up a head injury.
All three men will miss their respective World Cup qualifiers in the coming 10 days or so, with Blaszczykowski out against England and Hummels and Bender missing out against the Republic of Ireland.
