Sporting Gijon go top with win over Real Madrid Castilla

Sporting Gijon move to the top of the Segunda Division with a 2-1 victory over Real Madrid Catilla.

Sporting Gijon moved to the summit of the Spanish Segunda Division with a 2-1 win over Real Madrid Castilla.

In a poor opening first 30 minutes Stefan Scepovic had the only real chance, but he flashed his shot wide of the goal.

Ten minutes before half time, the away side took the lead through Carlos Carmona.

In the 57th minute, though, the Segunda Division's bottom team responded when Jose Rodriguez netted.

With little more than 10 minutes remaining, Scepovic made up for his first-half miss as he scored what proved to be the winner.
