Reading director of football Nicky Hammond has admitted that the club missed out on "one or two" targets during the summer.
The Royals had hoped to sign another striker before the end of the transfer window, but after they failed to add to their attacking department, Hammond has revealed that they want to press on to find a striker on loan until January.
Hammond told BBC Sport: "We would like to bring another striker to the club.
"There are one or two targets that we lost out on earlier in the summer, then when we came to the end of the window, there wasn't a deal that was right for the club and feasible."
Reading are currently ninth in the Championship table.
