Reading sign Nottingham Forest winger Garath McCleary on a three-year contract.

Reading have completed the signing of Nottingham Forest winger Garath McCleary on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with the Premier league club after completing a medical on Friday.

Club boss Brian McDermott told the club's official website: "It's important we have brought a player of Garath's quality through the door. It's an early signing for us, and a great one.

"We are absolutely delighted to get him. He's young, he's got an eye for goal, he's very quick and has got a real energy about him."

It is understood that he has signed a £15,000-a-week contract with the Royals, as the club ready their squad for next season.

Reading secured the Championship title last season.
