Reading have reportedly tabled a £2m bid for Nottingham Forest defender Chris Gunter.
The 22-year-old full back is in high demand, with Swansea City, Fulham and Norwich City also said to be interested in his signature.
Former teammate Garath McCleary joined the Royals from Forest last month and boss Brian McDermott is hopeful that McCleary's influence will persuade Gunter to sign for the Berkshire club.
Gunter, who has been capped 37 times at international level, played 90 minutes in Wales's 2-0 defeat to Mexico on Sunday evening.
