Reading make four changes for their bottom-of-the-table clash with Wigan, who welcome back Arouna Kone and Emmerson Boyce.

Roberto Martinez has named Arouna Kone alongside Franco di Santo in attack for Wigan Athletic's trip to Reading this afternoon.

It is the striker's first start for the Latics since he returned from his Africa Cup of Nations campaign with the Ivory Coast.

Emmerson Boyce also comes into the starting XI and his fellow defender, Antolin Alcaraz, is on the bench after a six-month spell on the sidelines with a groin injury.

Royals boss Brian McDermott makes four changes to the side that exited the FA Cup at the hands of Manchester United on Monday.

Ian Harte, Hope Akpan, Jimmy Kebe and Pavel Pogrebnyak return in place of Nicky Shorey, Garath McCleary, Noel Hunt and Adam Le Fondre, who is dropped to the bench to resume his super-sub duties.

Reading: Federici; Kelly, Mariappa, Morrison, Harte; Karacan, Leigertwood, Akpan, Kebe, McAnuff; Pogrebnyak

Wigan: Al-Habsi; Boyce, Scharner, Caldwell, Figueroa, Beausejour; McCarthy, Maloney, McArthur; Di Santo, Kone
