Queens Park Rangers keen to extend Charlie Austin's contract?

Queens Park Rangers are reportedly ready to reward Charlie Austin for his recent positive form by offering him an improved contract.

Queens Park Rangers are reportedly planning to offer Charlie Austin a new contract.

The 24-year-old has produced some positive form in front of goal since the R's returned to the Premier League this season, having scored six of their 11 goals.

In a bid to ward off any potential interest from rival clubs in the top flight, QPR are prepared to extend the striker's deal until the summer of 2018, which would see him earn around £50,000 a week, according to the London Evening Standard.

The report added that Austin's current contract, which will expire in 2016, is worth £28,000 a week.

Austin joined the West Londoners from Burnley in 2013 and has gone on to score 26 goals in all competitions for the club.
