Rio Ferdinand confirms completion of Queens Park Rangers medical

Rio Ferdinand confirms that he has passed his medical ahead of a proposed move to Queens Park Rangers following his Manchester United exit.

Rio Ferdinand has confirmed that he is close to finalising a free transfer to Queens Park Rangers.

The 35-year-old, who left Manchester United at the end of last season following a 12-year spell, underwent fitness tests today ahead of a proposed one-year deal at Loftus Road.

All that is left for the defender is to sign on the dotted line after he confirmed on Twitter that everything went to plan regarding his medical.

Ferdinand played under manager Harry Redknapp during his time at West Ham United.
