Chris Ramsey expects Charlie Austin to leave Queens Park Rangers

Queens Park Rangers boss Chris Ramsey says that it is "unlikely" Charlie Austin will remain at the club.

Queens Park Rangers head coach Chris Ramsey has admitted that it is "unlikely" the club will be able to keep hold of Charlie Austin.

The striker has been linked with a move away from Loftus Road after netting 18 Premier League goals last season, with Newcastle United, Bournemouth and Aston Villa reportedly interested.

Ramsey has said that while he is making plans for the new season with Austin in mind, there is every chance that the Hoops will cash in on the 26-year-old.

"We have to be realistic," Ramsey told talkSPORT. "It's unlikely he'll stay. We want to keep him but it's unlikely.

"The club is in a financial position that it needs to recoup some money and I think for his ambitions he wants to keep playing in the Premier League to go to the Euros.

"We've been offered £12m and turned it down so we're looking in excess of £15million – goalscoring is something you can't coach, it's just a habit that some people have."

Austin joined QPR from Burnley in 2013.
