Queens Park Rangers draw blank against West Ham United

Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United draw 0-0 in an entertaining game at Loftus Road.

Queens Park Rangers failed to turn their chances into goals as they were held to a 0-0 draw by West Ham United.

The home team made a fast start and almost took a first-minute lead as Sandro drilled a low effort towards goal, but Adrian dived low to keep it out.

Just two minutes later, West Ham's Reece Burke had a header cleared off the line by Nedum Onouha as both sides attacked early on.

The West London side were awarded a penalty midway through the half as James Collins was found guilty of handball. However, Adrian kept out his third straight penalty as he dived low to deny Charlie Austin's effort.

QPR continued to be the more attacking team as Matt Phillips's deflected shot went narrowly past the post.

After half time, West Ham went close through Aaron Cresswell, whose free kick was tipped over the bar, before Bobby Zamora almost found the top corner with a snap shot at the other end.

Richard Dunne thought that he had put QPR in the lead in the 73rd minute, but his header was touched over by Adrian, while Cheikhou Kouyate wasted a fine opportunity for West Ham when he blazed over from a few yards.

Karl Henry sent a fierce strike towards the bottom corner which Adrian kept out, before Onouha's low drive was cleared as QPR piled men forward in search of a winner which was not forthcoming.
