Neil Warnock has insisted that he is proud of the work that he carried out as manager of Queens Park Rangers.

The 63-year-old was relieved of his duties at Loftus Road on Sunday evening following a stint of 22 months in charge.

During that time, Warnock guided Rangers to promotion back to the Premier League, as well as bringing in players such as Joey Barton and Shaun Wright-Phillips.

"I take full responsibility for where we are," he told Sky Sports News. "We are in the Premier League, which is a fabulous league.

"I've done ten years' work in 22 months with the things I've had to put up with and deal with at the club.

"I'm disappointed to leave but that's life."

Mark Hughes is expected to appointed the manager of QPR this afternoon.
