Adel Taarabt: 'Benfica training more physical than Queens Park Rangers'

Benfica winger Adel Taarabt says that he is made to "work more" during training with the Portuguese side than he was in his spell with Queens Park Rangers.

Adel Taarabt has revealed that Benfica's training sessions make the players "work more" than he did during his time with Queens Park Rangers.

The Moroccan international's fitness levels were criticised by then-manager Harry Redknapp last season prior to his move to the Portuguese side this summer.

The 26-year-old told Record: "The club is very professional. The people are friendly and the truth is that we work more here than in England. The workouts are good, different from England. They are very physical, but always with ball and intensity."

Taarabt has been critical of Redknapp following his exit from Loftus Road.
