Ian Holloway apologises after criticising Queens Park Rangers fans

Queens Park Rangers boss Ian Holloway apologises to supporters after expressing his anger at seeing fans leave Loftus Road before the end of Monday's draw with Brentford.

Queens Park Rangers boss Ian Holloway has apologised to supporters after expressing his anger at seeing fans leave Loftus Road before the end of Monday's game with Brentford.

The R's looked to be heading towards a fourth consecutive Championship defeat with the visitors boasting a two-goal lead heading into added time.

However, Matt Smith headed home from close range in the 93rd minute and Luke Freeman equalised a minute later to snatch a point against the Bees in a 2-2 draw.

After the game, Holloway claimed that supporters who wanted to leave the stadium to get home early should just "stay there", prompting criticism from QPR fans on social media.

In a video released on the club's official website on Tuesday, the 54-year-old said: "I'm ready to fight and I need you to fight with me, that's all. So I'm sorry, you are a real QPR fan, of course you are.

"But I'm a passionate man, I always have been, and I've got to get my team passionate. They are not giving up. I don't want you to. You missed a wonderful moment. It was wonderful - take that all day long! I can't wait for the next game against them."

"For me, as an overall football person, I understand the travel you've got to do, the expense and I fully respect that. I want to give you value for money, so all I'm trying to say is I wish you had seen the change - how the gloating turned to the pain.

"We inflicted that - I wanted you to see that. So I apologise if that's how you feel, it wasn't meant that way. If you can't forgive me, what can I do? I need your support and my team needs your support. Thanks for coming. You missed one hell of a moment."

The result keeps QPR 16th in the Championship table.
