Paris Saint-Germain defender Alex has his sights set on a new contract with the French giants.
The Brazilian's current deal runs until the end of the season, but he insists that he has no plans to part company with the Ligue 1 leaders.
"I am waiting for the end of the season to discuss it seriously with the directors," he told reporters. "I am working hard so that the club will take the best decision."
The 31-year-old went on to say that he is hoping to maintain his good form at club level and secure a place in Brazil's 2014 World Cup squad.
"I think if I can keep up my current form, there is still a chance I could be called up by the coach," he said. "While there remains a chance, I will continue to believe."
