Salvatore Sirigu: Montpellier would be idiots to lose now

Salvatore Sirigu says that the disappointment around the Paris Saint-Germain camp in "enormous" following their defeat to Lille.

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu has admitted that their Ligue 1 title challenge is over following their 2-1 defeat to Lille.

The Italian goalkeeper said that Montpellier HSC would be "idiots" to let their five-point lead slip with just four games remaining.

"We are very sad. The title is forgotten," the 25-year-old told L'Equipe. "If Montpellier let it slip away, they are idiots!

"The disappointment is enormous. Nevertheless, we have to finish well for the club's reputation."

The win for Lille means that they are now just two points adrift of Les Parisiens.
