Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has held himself responsible for the injury that captain Thiago Silva sustained during his side's friendly victory against Napoli.
The Ligue 1 outfit confirmed earlier today that the 29-year-old, who competed in the World Cup for Brazil earlier this summer, will miss "several weeks" of action due to the hamstring problem.
Asked if he felt that Silva was rushed back, Blanc is quoted by Goal.com as saying: "For me, no, I do not think that he took to the pitch too soon after the World Cup.
"Much has been said about the injury and who is to blame for his injury. Fine, I'll take the blame. The fault lies at my feet if it must lie somewhere.
"If we could have done things differently, we would have. Last year something similar happened and nobody said anything."
PSG kicked off their league campaign with a 2-2 draw against Reims last Friday.
