Philadelphia Union 3-0 Toronto FC

Philadelphia Union put breathing space between themselves and Toronto FC with a 3-0 win over the Canadian team at PPL Park.

Philadelphia Union have closed the gap on eighth-placed Montreal Impact in the MLS Eastern Conference following a 3-0 win over Toronto FC.

Gabriel Enrique Gomez opened the scoring for the home side after 34 minutes, before Freddy Adu doubled the advantage just two minutes later.

Antoine Hoppenot put the icing on the cake with a third goal 12 minutes from time as the Union consigned Toronto to their 10th defeat this season.

That leaves the Canadian outfit rooted to the bottom of the table with just 10 points from 16 games.
