Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has slammed his players for "not listening" to him following his side's heavy 5-2 defeat at Burnley earlier today.

The Posh were 2-1 up but capitulated to a 5-2 loss, which has led to Ferguson giving his defence a stern telling off.

"Pure and simple, we're conceding too many goals," Sky Sports News quotes Ferguson as saying. "I either persevere or replace [the defence].

"I can replace them from within. Unfortunately they're not listening to me. "It's really unlike me to criticise my players in public. Normally what I say to them in the dressing room is kept in there.

"We simply aren't defending well enough. I've tried different combinations to get it right but it's not been working.

Peterborough are currently rock-bottom of the Championship with no points from five games.
