Tomas Necid brace downs ADO Den Haag

Tomas Necid scores twice as PEC Zwolle beat ADO Den Haag 3-1 to move fifth in the Eredivisie table.

PEC Zwolle have climbed up to fifth in the Eredivisie table after beating ADO Den Haag 3-1 at the IJsseldelta Stadion this afternoon.

Tomas Necid opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 17 minutes after being brought down by Thomas Kristensen inside the box.

It proved enough to earn the hosts a slender half-time lead, but Ron Jans's side took a big step toward the three points on 58 minutes when Jesper Drost doubled their advantage.

Necid added a third just after the 70-minute mark, but Den Haag top goalscorer Michiel Kramer struck his 11th of the season soon after to give Zwolle something to think about.

However, Kramer's effort proved a mere consolation as Zwolle held on to move to within eight points of leaders PSV Eindhoven.
