Osasuna edge past Malaga

Osasuna progress to the last 16 of the Copa del Rey at the expense of Malaga on the away goals rule.

Osasuna have edged past Malaga to the last 16 of the Copa del Rey.

The round-of-32 tie between the two sides ended 4-4 on aggregate, with the Pamplona outfit beating their La Liga rivals on the away goals rule.

Hosts Osasuna got a major boost in their quest to progress from the tie as early as the fifth minute when Malaga defender Welington put through his own net.

Eliseu restored parity for the visitors just past the hour mark, but given that Osasuna had scored three times away from home, they went through.
