Paris Saint-Germain record 4-1 win over Olympiacos

Paris Saint-Germain beat Olympiacos 4-1 in the Champions League this evening.

Paris Saint-Germain beat Olympiacos 4-1 in the Champions League this evening, with Thiago Motta producing two identical goals in his side's victory.

Olympiacos were quicker out of the traps as a half-volley from David Fuster crashed into the PSG post.

Against the run of play PSG went ahead thanks to £55m-man Edinson Cavani, who converted a simple chance after good work from Maxwell.

However, new signing Vladimir Weiss brought the scores level going into half time, as the striker skilfully got past Marquinhos and Thiago Silva before finishing beyond Salvatore Sirigu in the PSG goal.

PSG should have gone 2-1 ahead after half time, but Van der Wiel smashed his chance straight at Roberto Jimenez. However, they did not have to wait too long as Motta converted an Ezequiel Lavezzi corner from the left with a diving header.

Minutes later Motta furthered his side's lead through an almost identical goal, as Lavezzi swung the ball in for Motta to produce another diving header to leave the score at 3-1.

PSG had the chance to go further ahead when they were awarded a penalty in the 81st minute, but Jimenez pulled off an athletic save to deny Zlatan Ibrahimovic's kick and follow-up effort.

The French side soon made amends, however, when Marquinhos headed in unmarked at the near post to give his side a 4-1 victory.
