Oldham Athletic are reportedly unlikely to announce the signing of convicted rapist Ched Evans today.
The former Sheffield United striker has been trying to get back into football after he was released from prison in October having served half of a five-year sentence for raping a 19-year-old woman in a hotel.
The 26-year-old has reportedly been in talks with Oldham after it was revealed that the conviction prevents the forward from playing overseas.
An Oldham press conference was due to be held today to announce Evans's arrival, but it has been reported by BBC Sport that it is unlikely to go ahead.
Thousands of people have signed a petition urging Oldham not to sign Evans.
