Nottingham Forest sign Costel Pantilimon from Watford on a permanent basis following his loan spell at the City Ground in the second half of last season.

Championship side Nottingham Forest have snapped up Romanian goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon from Watford for an undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at the City Ground, keeping four clean sheets in 13 league outings.

Former Sunderland and Manchester City stopper Pantilimon has now returned to the Reds on a permanent basis, with a three-year deal being signed on Tuesday afternoon.

Pantilimon joined Watford from Sunderland in 2015, but he failed to hold down a place in the side and was loaned to Deportivo La Coruna and Forest.

Aitor Karanka's side have already made eight signings with a month to go until the 2018-19 season gets up and running.
