Nottingham Forest boss Steve McClaren admits that his side's victory against Watford yesterday was not one to remember.

Nottingham Forest manager Steve McClaren was happy to see his side record an "ugly win" against Watford yesterday.

The Tricky Trees edged out hosts Watford 1-0 at Vicarage Road to lift themselves out of the relegation zone.

"We hope [the win] is a catalyst but there's still a long way to go before we can say that," he explained to reporters. "But it was an important win, we've had a tough week and we needed some pride back.

"It was a performance I wanted to see from them - battling, full of character, full of attitude, getting blocks.

"We call it a horrible win, an ugly win and I don't think I'll be watching it on the coach on the way home."

The victory was Forest's first in five matches.
