Huddersfield Town will set a new record of 43 league games unbeaten if they avoid defeat when Notts County visit the Galpharm this afternoon.

Huddersfield Town can eclipse the record of 42 games unbeaten set by Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest in the '70s if they avoid defeat today.

Lee Clark's side equalled the record with a 1-1 draw against Walsall two weeks ago and now take on Forest's city rivals Notts County at the Galpharm.

"We don't talk about the run - we never have," Clark said.

"Don't mistake that for not being proud of what we have done already - it is something that will stay with us forever.

"It's something that when it's all over as a manager, the staff and the players will sit down with their children and grandchildren and tell them about it."

The Terriers' last defeat came against Southampton on December 28 last year, since which they have recorded 24 wins and 18 draws.

"I remember at the start of this run [chairman Dean Hoyle] said 'Let's go on a run of ten games unbeaten'," added former Newcastle and Fulham man Clark.

"I was talking to him last week and he said 'I asked for ten but I never thought we'd get to 42!' I think he's got a lot of pride from it and that's fantastic for him as well as the fans."

Huddersfield are currently second in League One, five points adrift of pace-setters Charlton Athletic.
