Bradley Johnson took his tally for the season to 13 as he scored both goals in Norwich City's 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Carrow Road this afternoon.
It's a result that, with five matches left to play, has moved the Norfolk outfit into the automatic promotion places.
The main feature of the opening exchanges was a succession of Norwich corners, but Alex Neil's men failed to make the most of any of them.
However, there was no such problem for Norwich midfielder Johnson, who opened the scoring in the 33rd minute.
Full-back Steven Whittaker sent a high cross towards the back post, where Johnson got up above Marnick Vermijl to send a downward header beyond visiting goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and into the net via the upright.
It was a goal that sparked almost total domination from the Canaries and they were rewarded in first-half stoppage time when Johnson struck for a second time.
The Wednesday defence were unable to clear Graham Dorrans's corner and when the ball dropped for Johnson, the 27-year-old sent his half-volley from 10 yards out bouncing in.
With the damage done, Norwich showed little mercy after the restart as they went in search of a third goal, but when that had not arrived in the final 20 minutes, they instead looked to contain, which they did with minimal fuss.
