Norwich City manager Dean Smith has revealed that the club are in the process of extending Teemu Pukki's contract.
The 32-year-old has been a crucial part of the squad this season, playing 30 of their 31 Premier League games, scoring nine times.
Pukki's current contract is set to expire at the end of this season, which has brought some speculation regarding his future with the Canaries, but Smith is not concerned about that.
"I do not find it distracting at all. That is why we have sporting directors and I enjoy having sporting directors. Speaking to Stuart (Webber) I think we are in the process of exercising the option on Teemu so hopefully, we will have him with us next season," Smith told the press.
"He is a good player. I have really enjoyed working with him. But he needs feeding and that is what we have spoken to the players about. Teemu knows how I feel about him but the club has an option, and I think they are exercising it. I think (Pukki) has done okay (this season)."
The Finnish international has been linked with a move to Celta Vigo, but the Premier League outfit are hoping to retain his services for at least one more year.
