Chris Hughton admits that victory over Sunderland earlier today gave him great satisfaction, a win that extended Norwich City's unbeaten run to eight matches.

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has declared that he was impressed with the desire and commitment of his players after they beat Sunderland earlier today.

Sebastien Bassong and Anthony Pilkington scored for Norwich, who held on to record a fourth successive win at Carrow Road.

Hughton has admitted that he thinks it will be difficult to sustain a fine run of form which has seen the Canaries go eight matches unbeaten.

He told Sky Sports News: "We were up against a good team irrespective of their position and form.

"The team knew we had to get back to basics and be harder to beat. We have done that and added some goals to our play.

"It was going to be difficult to sustain our play after we were excellent in the first half. It's our third game in a week with the same team, so we get a lot of satisfaction from the win."

Victory against the Mackems has moved Norwich up to 12th place in the Premier League.
