Norwich City lose appeal against Jonny Howson red card

Norwich City midfielder Jonny Howson will serve a three-game ban after the Canaries' appeal against his red card was rejected by the Football Association.

The Football Association has rejected Norwich City's appeal against the red card shown to Jonny Howson over the weekend.

The midfielder was sent off for a rash challenge against Bournemouth on Saturday and will now serve a three-game ban.

He will miss the upcoming Championship games against Cardiff City, Brentford and Birmingham City.

Howson was dismissed with the score at 1-1 against the league leaders, but Norwich found a late winner to end Bournemouth's 14-game unbeaten run and move within a point of the playoffs.
