Norwich City defender Javier Garrido has refused to give up hope that he will one day represent Spain at senior international level.
The 28-year-old featured regularly alongside the likes of David Villa at youth level, but he has so far failed to earn a call-up to the full squad.
However, rather than dismiss the idea, the full-back has insisted that there is still a chance that he could force his way into Vicente del Bosque's plans.
"That is something which is always there because I've been playing up to Under-21s. I know right now it is very difficult to be involved but why not? I have been playing regularly and the first step is to be playing a lot and we are doing well, so who knows," he is quoted as saying by the Eastern Daily Press.
Garrido recently agreed a permanent contract at Carrow Road.
