Northampton Town boss Chris Wilder has hinted that Newcastle United do hold an interest in teenage frontman Ivan Toney.
Reports have suggested that Magpies manager Steve McClaren could make the 19-year-old one of his first signings at St James' Park, and Cobblers coach Wilder has now suggested that discussions have taken place regarding the striker's future.
"There has been speculation, and maybe it is one for the chairman to answer," said Wilder, according to the Shields Gazette.
"There has been discussions – we can't get away from that – and as I have said before, Ivan is a very, very good young player that will attract interest.
"I will know more where we are after I have had discussions with the chairman today and tomorrow."
It is thought that Tony could be valued in the region of £300,000.
